Debt Relief Orders: Becoming an Intermediary
Course Overview This course is for money advisers wishing to become a DRO intermediary. It covers the basic criteria a client must satisfy to qualify for a DRO and outlines the checks an intermediary must take before submitting a DRO application.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the session, delegates will understand:
- The necessary conditions a debtor must meet to qualify for a DRO
- When an intermediary’s responsibility for the application ends and the debtor’s begins
- Which debts must be included and how balances are calculated
- The importance of using Standard Financial Statement to compile a DRO compliant income and expenditure submission
- The fundamental principles of assets and transactions at undervalue
- How to complete the assessment required to become a DRO Intermediary

Duration: Half day
For advisers planning to become an intermediary with the IMA, a post course assessment will need to be completed. Further details will be provided by email after booking.
